why rain ?
rain bakery opened in may 2021, after an 18 month refit to our wee shop right in the heart of Fort William, on Cameron Square. We knew it was a good spot, because we've been running our main business, The Granite House, on the High Street since 1977. We knew that we needed a memorable name for the new business, so we opted for one of the things Fort William is already famous for .... rain.
rain mission
rain bakery could not open the doors without our very talented and experienced chef, Steven. He is our in house maestro, making everything fresh daily in our bakery downstairs. he's a sourdough fan, and has spent years perfecting his croissants, pastries and delicious baked treats. Our front of house team pride themselves in attention to detail, offering excellent customer service and the finest coffees in Fort William.
We can seat up to 20 in our wee cafe, offering a breakfast and brunch choice, lunchtime savouries, sandwiches and soups, and a wide range of coffees, teas and cold drinks. We hope to be open some evenings during the busy summer months.
Customers just wanting to grab and go, are offered the same amazing choice to takeaway, all in sustainable packaging.
We always have a good gluten free range made exclusively for us in a gluten free kitchen.
the big idea
It is our hope that rain bakery will stride ahead and be recognised as one of The Highlands best wee cafes, offering the finest artisan bakery, superior coffees, perfect pastries, and fantastic treats to locals and visitors to Fort William all year round.
